I myself love the shift paddles and use them frequently. I have a few complaints with them though.

If you don't have the shifter kicked over to M/S it will still upshift for you. Sometimes it upshifts for you at the same nanosecond you upshift, resulting in skipping 2nd gear and going to 3rd for example... this has happened a number of times and its annoying because 1--->3 is slooow.

The other thing is that when you're negotiating a tight turn, or sliding with some opposite lock its difficult to use the paddles as your hands aren't likely to be in the correct position.

As someone that has only ever owned manual vehicles in my life I have to admit the paddles make an automatic car at least a little fun. Before I coded 2TB and added the paddles spirited driving was kinda lacking any excitement.
