Reminds me of the original BMW F1 engines that were based on old M10 blocks - take a production engine, turn it into a motorsport engine, use what was learned to make a better production engine.
Unlike the Tesla that really has just one run in ludicrous mode for the headline 0 - 100 numbers, this might actually lead to high performance, pure electric iM cars that can actually stand up to track days etc. like traditional BMWs.
