Why was the original PE superceded after only a year on the market, and the replacement has remained the same ever since? That's one of my questions, wondering if the two part numbers sound different or if there's truth to the reports that it's just about BMW making more money on exhaust tips.
Having different sounds from the two part numbers would explain why many in the forums say they can barely even hear a difference, and others (like me) report that it has annoying levels of drone. I know that PEs are factory options on various F cars sold these days. I can't see my PE being factory equipment on any BMW except maybe something "competition pack"
