We all have our opinions, but I feel the 5GT lost buyers in the US on it's outlandishly chic design and it's near 7er price tag. BMW had been selling the E61 for a price that was far too high, leaving it in the upper echelons of the soccer-mom market. The 5GT maintained it's high-end price bracket without the versatility of the wagon. I had an E61 and I will say $72,000 for a station wagon that isn't an M or an AMG or an S is a bit too much. It lost it's way on the price tag. The 5GT needed to be presented as a downmarket 7er than an upmarket 5er. But now with the looks and impressive equipment of the F11, I feel that it will steal many X5/6, Cayenne, and Range Rover buyers.
