If you drive your car to get waves and thumbs up from other drivers, you're driving it for the wrong reason.
That said, e30 guys usually wave. Most bike guys wave when I'm on the bike (except elitist Harley guys that are too good for a sport bike). And I'd say about 70-85% of the z's I've come across while in my Z wave - especially if they're in a z3.
