No way, didn't touch the caliper carrier at all, and the caliper is just soft cast metal that melted away under the grinder, very soft and so doesn't really have any major required load on it other than it holding the outside pad in place. Plus this side of the caliper is opposite the part that has hydraulics connected to it so didn't come close to that either.
