Slight stretch = stiffer sidewalls. Depends on purpose. Guys who drag will ultimately try to fit the widest tires they can(widest contact patch) since they don't really care if turn in/cornering response is affected.

275/30/20x10.5 on my setup up front. RWD, 275 width all around.
