The Timing chain test is performed by the dealer diagnosis system, so no taking the engine apart.
But should one of the 2 chains fail the test, the engine needs to be removed from the car to replace the chains, hence why it can take many days.
The "care package" does not require the removal of the engine from the car.
Timing chain replaced cars will also get a oil change.
All cars will be programmed for 12 month/10,000 Mile oil change interval.
