No, VO coding is for 2 things:
1. Easier coding. You add/remove the option from the FA, and just code the modules. It'll set all the relevant FDL codings to the proper settings. Think of it as a factory reset, but you changed what factory means a little.
2. Dealer won't wipe out the coding. Because you changed what the factory default is, when the dealer updates or resets the module for whatever reason, it'll preserve the VO changes. So you don't have to go back and redo the FDL codings for VLD.
Honestly, if you're just adding and removing package options like adding VLD, adding 2TB (sport automatic transmission), high beam assist (HBA), etc, VO coding is the proper and much better way to go about it. Just requires E-sys. What Bimmercode does is FDL codings. FDL codings is just the slow and more tedious way to do things. Think VO coding as 2 x 5 = 10, and FDL coding as 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 10.
