Does anyone know what tyre rules are set for this format?
Do the teams have to use the same compound for the race as the compound they chose for the sprint race?
Qualifying will take place on Friday, and in a change to normal practice, all drivers must use the *soft tyre for the session, as opposed to having a free choice. As for the Saturday’s Sprint race, drivers will have a free choice of starting tyres and no mandatory pit stop – with a free choice of tyres for the start of Sunday’s British Grand Prix.
The Sprint race will be a race over 100 km or 17 laps at Silverstone , lasting 25-30 min.
Points will be awarded to the top 3 finishers, 3 for the winner down to 1 point for third.
