Personally I try and fault find myself, but customers shouldn't have to even try.
I try and eliminate the obvious, in this instance I'd ensure any vibration isn't road surface influenced. Get on decent surfaces and see if it goes away. If it is the same, it has to be 'driven' from the car itself. Is it in anyway coming through the steering, indicating it may be front wheels. Different gears at the vibration speed, a variance steers to possible gearbox or torque converter issues. Etc., etc.
I know the list can go on, but garages should have fault finding skills.
