All 2013 BMW F10 5-series in the USA came standard with Driving Dynamics Control. The $1,000 option you're speaking of is Dynamic Damper Control. Which allowed you to adjust the shock absorber firmness as softer (Comfort+) or firmer (Sport,Sport+).
