Small gutless engine pushing a heavy sedan around, its's doing the best it can with the cards its been dealt. It has to work very hard where a larger engine generating considerable torque can move the same car with minimal load winding up with similar fuel consumption. The N20 has absolutely no business in a F10, yet BMW put them in there.... I'll second the engine mounts, N20's are incredibly unrefined buzzbombs of engines and they tear up engine mounts abnormally fast. How unrefined the engine is becomes extra abundantly clear once the hydraulic fluid ruptures from the body of the mount allowing the mount to collapse.
