City/urban driving can vary depending on size of the town and street layout. If your daily driving is on city/urban streets that have you driving on long boulevards/parkways with timed lights & down hill in both directions  ...your average MPH could be higher than someone driving the same 90% city/urban but has to stop every 3 blocks and multiple idle periods during those stops...five stop signs...and up hill in both directions  ...again their 90% city/urban driving can see really low average MPH...which would coincide with a lower average MPG.
The average MPH will give a better perspective of you engine load (starts/stops/etc)...so always remember to reveal that along with your average MPG. |
