IMO the new Z4 is approx 200kg heavier than it should be. The MX5 prht is approx 1150kg, so the Z4 with larger dimensions, bigger engine and all the necessary bits that go into supporting a bigger car, should from what i can see be only 200 kg heavier than an mx5.
In the end you can go so far to disguise mass, but then again Nissan's GTR has just pushed the envelope.
