Things is, after 5 years of no interaction / stimulation, your brain is for all purposes dead. I am no brain surgeon, but I don't know if it is possible to bring someone back after 5 years of basically no brain activity.

I have watched a few documentaries about the human brain, one in particular that fascinated me was this: The Brain with David Eagleman.

One episode was about brain rehabilitation, and a patient that was in a coma for a few months only had massive problems adjusting to society again.

I don't believe I ever saw any articles stating he had no brain activity.
