I had a 5 Series GT a few years ago, and it was a fantastic car. Riding on the 7 Series platform, it was one of the most comfortable cars I've ever had. Not as high as an X5, but with similar luggage space to the 5 Series estate, in a luxurious package, it was great.

Individual heated comfort rear seats, that reclined electronically, with a panoramic roof and rear entertainment, everyone loved being driven in it. I used to get a lot of positive comments about it all the time. I lost count of the number of people that said it looked loads better in the flesh than in pictures.

I may be in the minority, but the 6 GT looks fantastic in the flesh (in the right colour). There's one near me in black, blacked out grills, 21" wheels and factory tinted glass, and it looks incredible, with loads of road presence.

Saying that, I always thought that the 3GT looked odd, and didn't have any of the additional luxuries over the regular 3 Series that the 5/6GT had, which kind of defeated the object.

Had one also. Was a fantastic car. Msport loaded. Comfy. Ugly but Not as ugly.
