Take a Mercedes S class for example. Typically, unreliable piece of GARBAGE. But almost every SINGLE new feature that appears on mainstream cars appeared on an S class FIRST.
Does that make it a great car? No. But the damn thing just oozes class and "newfangledly" cool stuff to try out.
I'm not saying unreliability comes as a good thing. It doesn't. But it does come when you are TRYING new things.
