Montana leather was used during the e38/e39 era (1995-2003). At that time, Montana leather was the standard (1st tier) grade of leather offered. The upgrade leather options (at that time) to Montana....would have been Nappa ("Heritage" or "Soft"), & WalkNappa grades of leather. Then there was also the BMW Individual fabric & leather offerings, too.
