i dont see how the fact they are two different engines has anything to do with wanting to run thinner oil. if anything, doesnt it make sense to use THICKER oil for the higher performance, turbo engine for better protection? I just dont see how 0w-30 is healthy for an engine especially in the long run. all bmw's whether its my N52, an N55 or whatever you want are designed to run with thick oil and have good bearing clearances.
I don't see how you can recommend different viscosity oils for the engine you did not design. BMW engineers and Mobile 1 chemists recommend to use their 0W40, but you recommend other viscosity is nonsense. Use what is recommended by Oil brands or BMW. Don't waste time and money trying to find high performance oil, because engine pistons won't fly away from its housing.
