Separate pic files in the folder will most probably be ignored. Cover images must be embedded within every single sound file, also the audio file format must support that option (mp3 or wma).
Check/update your audio files with a software which properly displays and manages all ID tags, i.e. with iTunes ("get info" right-click option)
