I've been closely following this thread for a few months now, and a set of G30 (348x30) front calipers has recently become available at an attractive price in my local area.

My vehicle is an F10 520i on Breyton GTS 19" rims, and the build of the 520i is quite similar to the 528i in Western countries.

I've observed that many members who upgraded to G30 calipers are using the 374 rotor, but there's limited information on the 348 rotor that comes with these calipers. I've identified two variations for the 348 rotor:
  • Variation 1 (for sale near my location):

Caliper housing left: 34116883483
Caliper housing right: 34116883484
Brake disc (348x30): 34116860909
  • Variation 2:

Brake caliper housing blue left: 34116891273
Brake caliper housing blue right: 34116891274
Brake disc left (348X36): can be replaced with 760i rotors as mentioned earlier in this thread so no trimming of pads is required.

Variation 1 is the one available for sale so my questions regarding Variation 1 are:
  1. Is Variation 1 also OEM by Brembo, and are they 4-piston calipers? I couldn't find this information online.
  2. Are the G30 calipers plug and play on the F10, except for a 4mm or 5mm washer?
  3. What rotor (348x30) would be recommended for use in Variation 1? Would the 535i's rotor be suitable?
  4. For the pads, it appears to be 34116883469 per RealOEM. Any idea if trimming is needed, or do you have recommendations for pads that do not require trimming?
  5. Is the protection plate needed to be trimmed or changed with this caliper/rotor 348? If yes, I'd like to gather all the necessary parts together.
  6. Lastly, any idea if the width of this caliper is wider than the F01 stock brakes? I attempted to change to F01 stock brakes in the past, and while they cleared the barrel of my rim, they did not clear the spokes, requiring spacers and longer bolts, which I did not proceed with.

Looking forward to your insights and expertise.

m performance brakes are installed on a 374 disc, you need adapters for F10, such as spacers for calipers... they brake better than brakes from F01 with 1 piston, but cannot compare with 6 piston ones
