New at 40K for performance cars, besides the Z you're pretty much looking at American V8's or 3-4 cyl turbos. At $41k the Z Sport has its compromises. Forgetting the fact that the whole platform is ancient, vs. the $51k Z Performance you lose rev match and launch control, no limited slip diff, worse brakes, smaller wheels/tires and no added aero. For the interior you get manually adjusted non-heated cloth seats, smaller touch screen, worse audio, etc.

It's worth the extra $10k for the Z Performance unless someone really just wants a barebones sports car. At $51k though there are much better options. I'm not a fan of the Supra's looks, but it out performs the Z in pretty much every measurable category and costs $53,600. The fact that people have paid $60k+ for this Z is insane to me.
