I feel like my measurements on what constitutes a great car are starting to gravitate towards the intangibles - its design, how it sounds, how analog it feels vs digital. But good luck trying to measure all of those for bragging rights purposes, lol

Agreed. The Genesis Coupe 3.8 is a pretty amazing track car, given it's price and availably tech. However, it's a sucky car to drive on the road. But it will eat cars 2-3x more expensive around a track.
