I've always wondered what is holding back automated speeding tickets being issued where toll booths are involved. If you're using an EZ Pass or similar device, one can easily determine your speed on that stretch of road by measuring the time it takes for you to travel between two sensor locations. Same applies if you travel a road requiring ticket on entry if you don't have a toll pass device.

That's what they do in a few Europeans countries.
