I'm not sure the 17's fit the 5 series any longer.
Of course dedicated winters are the best option but I get by on Conti DWS just fine.
I have friends in Grand Blanc that drive 5 and 3 series XDrive that are happy with
Michelin Primacy which are all season also. I have made trips there for visits during
prime time (December/January) with no issues. Now what you will run into is the want
of run flats, this will greatly lower your choices.
