Not sure if I completely agree with the frequency theory. For example, I have TPM sensors on a set of wheels from the earlier series of an F10 that are not completely compatible with my later series F10. Specifically, the TPM sensors are recognized by my vehicles (in other words, there is no tire-warning light on the dash), but do not read tire pressure that should display with"Vehicle" data on the car's center screen. If the older TPM sensor are recognized by my vehicle, wouldn't that imply they are of the correct frequency? If not, I'd get an error light. Is there perhaps other code sent by a TPM sensor that is not compatible with another vehicle, so wouldn't these sensors be vehicle specific also?
