this is where I might get screwed... read my post above. My car needs brakes in 4k miles... I will have to do the brakes, and then only really have the car for 8 months and the lease will be up

sorry to hear that mate. Aren't you covered by the warranty? I mean you don't have to pay for the brake change. It's sad that you won't be able to enjoy with new brakes once lease is up.
I picked up a 5400miles 2016 535 for $450/month with only fees down($2k). The brakes need replacement at 40-50k miles. So I would barely hit that limit as I drive less than 8k miles per year.
