Hi guys,
know I blow 4 years of dust off this thread, but interested if someone else has accomplished this axle back mod.
Seems to be a decent (and compared to after market axle backs a fairly cheap) sound upgrade if one has some welding capabilities.
Needed some zoom into the pics in the first post to get behind the secret of air flow in the pot
Hope the air flow I marked in the two pics is right - first the engine breaths in the middle chamber
Then it flows from the middle chamber through the 2 180° elbows out to the tips
james23 mentioned he wants to weld a Y piece into the middle chamber (if I understood that right) to connect the incoming pipe from the engine directly to the outgoing ones connected to the tips
What do you think about the idea of just cutting the middle chamber pipes off at the chamber wall - would that add a lot of drone and/or would the chamber swallow a lot of the intended effect of getting a better/louder sound since the airflow is just lack of the 180° ellbows?
