To the debate on larger surface area or multi piston brakes here's a good article that gives us the Leyman terms of the two. At the end of the day it's larger surface for both brakes and rotors, by equal force and continent on tire traction.

Other articles go on to say that there's no advantage on multi-piston over floating style calipers other than initial bite. Initial bite caused by equal force is great for the track allowing to brake later before the turn-in. (Which is what I'm interested in
) and also makes since for an M car.
