Down Pipe
I'm fixing to buy a down pipe before getting my car tuned. With that being said emissions inspection isn't a concern. My biggest concern is the noise and I don't want it to loud. I continue to hear conflicting point of views on catless vs catted. I don't mind spending the extra money if the catted version will actually be quieter Anyone have a good suggestion on what to go with? Thanks

You don’t mention what the vehicle is, I’m assuming 535? Is the rest of your exhaust otherwise stock? If so you won’t notice much increase in noise except when you really get on the throttle and even then it isn’t loud by any means. I do assume the catted would be quieter but don’t have any experience with them. You will notice the exhaust smell at stop lights with the windows down if you go catless.

2016 535i Exhaust is stock seeing that it would generate noise to change out. I have done quite a bit of bolt on work and the downpipe maybe the last of those items before getting it tuned. I will just go with a catted version. I have seen those go up to $1000.
