F10 535i Dinan update
Just called Dinan and asked what was the status of the software, exhaust and other updates for the F10 535i. They stated that they are working on it and they should be out in the next 2-3 months. Expect the same HP (355) and TQ (401) as the N55 update to the 335i. There will be no stage I since BMW "already has a mild upgrade".
So hopefully within a few months we can get our BMWs to lean more toward sport luxury than the luxury sport. |

I'm curious about that statement "bmw already has a mild upgrade". I'm wondering if that means the 2013 535's will get the N55HP 320hp motor which makes sense why dinan wouldn't have a stage 1 for the car.

Just sent you a PM...Craig over at Butler Tire on Roswell Road has a nice 535i M Sport and is very knowledgable on this subject...he has a tune on his car and a really nice Remus exhaust. Maybe give him a call, he can give you some information and hook you up with the parts as well.

It might be part of the M performance upgrades BMW have have announced earlier this year and will be available in the US soon hopefully. Their european brochure had info about engine tuning packages. I don't think the 535i was listed there, but hopefully it will be by the time they are available in the US. As it was the case for the E9x, these upgrades should be pretty mild, so this might be what Dinan was taking about.

My decision to purchase the 535 is somewhat hinging on the abilty to get a little more power out of it. Are these tunes legal in California? I see that many of the updates are pending C.A.R.B. approval but do CA 535 owners just purchase the update anyway? Would a smog inspector even notice if a F10 535 even had the update?

Dinan had a press release this week for Stage 3 on the N55 along with Oil Cooler and Intercooler, but still nothing for the F10 535i model.
We hear directly from Dinan, so I'll post as soon we hear something. |

THis is complete garbage. Especially since Dinan admitted they weren't working very hard since they don't see the F10 N55 market as very large.

My car is the one they used to build Stage2. It's awesome - almost no lag in acceleration and a good boost in power over the Stage1. I still have to put some miles on the tune and let Terry analyze the logs, also he is working out the gauge controls. But this is a major difference from stock - the best way I can describe the feel is - this is the way the car should have come from the factory. It's smooth, but instantaneous. Powerful but still graceful.
