Geico Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI) Insight

Hi everyone,

I have Geico Mechanical Breakdown Insurance (MBI) through October 2017.

Coverage is separate from collision, but my service advisor made some statements that I feel may be incorrect. I'm hesitant to call Geico to clarify and wonder if anyone here has insight into the following:

1. What’s compared to a vehicle’s cash value when determining whether or not to total same, total lifetime claims under the policy or only that claimed under a then current incident?

2. At what percentage of cash value is a vehicle totaled, 80%, 100%, some other percentage?

3. Can a vehicle’s adjuster determined cash value be disputed?

4. When a vehicle's totaled, does Geico take same and pay cash value, does the owner keep same and get paid cash value minus salvage value or does the owner keep same and get paid the difference between total lifetime claims and cash value?

Thank you very much!
