Group Buy - Tint your car (Manhattan by Tom Kovach)
I will be getting my 535i tinted in the coming week.
I have used Tom Kovach's services in the past (The Art of Tint) and have been very pleased with his work. Tom uses Huper Optik and Solar Gard films, is very good at what he does and has quite a following. Located in Manhattan. We have a group-rate in place. Anyone interested? |

Next group Sat Jul 28. I have 3 spots left. Tinting takes two hours. Location: Manhattan.
Please do not contact Tom directly. There will be no group-pricing without a password. I put these groups together for him. PM me if interested. Thank you. |

V, I have sapphire mettalic black on outside and black dakota leather inside. I want to do back windows and all the side windows. I havent decided on the windshield yet. Since i have black on black, i am looking at between 50-70% tints. Not too dark but just enough to get some comfort from sun and also keep the cops at bay. Hey one question, i just got my retractable power licence plate holder. Do u recomend any shops in central NJ. Thanx! |

Hey ankitpoo -
You are right, given your colors, I think a nice 35% tint would be good enough. The reason you might have read that ceramic films are "better" is main because their reject more heat. They are also more expensive, thicker and some people reported interferences with radio signals (garage remote controls, cell phones etc.) while others none. The hue or look of the film is also important. Some will look gray, ever so slighty greenish and other black. I recommend to pick a film that look black given the exterior color of your car. Finally, it's hard to judge from pictures found online: the same tint will look more or less dark or look different under an overcast, sunny day or at night or under the rain. Tom is a great installer. He even removes the third brake light and tints the back window with one piece. You can tint your windshield with 50% and you'll prob. be fine but there is no denying this is riskier. Just sent you a PM with the details. |

I just wanted to throw my .02 in here. Tom Kovach is like Lee Berber. These guys are the Jimi Hendrix and Robert Plant of tinting. Rock stars!
Tom did a 911 c4 for me some years back and I swear it looked like factory tint. He uses special files to micro-edge and the edges disappear into the glass... |
