Time from arrival at dealer to Available
Poss a UK specific question, perhaps not......
I know my 520d arrives at the dealer this week (likely fri). The lease company advises it takes 7-10 days to sort out registration. Sounds like a long time to me. What are others experiences? Thx |

usually car is registered as soon as its consigned to dealer and that normally happens before it arrives with them. they will usually send (fax) you a temp DVLA form to sign and send back so they can tax it etc (assuming they already have your insurance cert).
I know in my case the car arrived at dealer on the thursday and I picked it up that friday. I can only imagine if true, the leasing company are saying this because paper work that would normally go back n forth quickly during a private purchase (i.e as soon as I got the forms etc I signed and sent them back in minutes) might be somewhat more leisurely in the hands of a leasing company, especially if they are posting stuff to you, waiting for it back etc etc.....don't really know how it works with leases never had one. |

quick update for anyone tracking this. Car is available for delivery on Thursday next week. That's a couple of weeks earlier than quoted when I ordered it back in December. In total it's about 9 weeks from order to delivery.

When I ordered mine I negotiated an 8% or 9% discount plus a guarantee to absorb the vat increase but on condition I took delivery before March. It was a good deal. Subsequently I've changed jobs and have been able to move the car onto the company lease scheme, so residual value doesn't affect me now. |

Mine is a corporate contract hire, but direct via my BMW dealer rather than via a leasing company. The service has been excellent.
Order for F10 520d SE with a stack of options placed 12th Jan, confirmed week 10 (w/c 7 March) build a week later with estimated delivery 15th April. emailed me this week to say it's estimated I can collect the car from the dealer on 6 April. I think that's exactly 12 weeks from order to collection.

Hiya guys, a question on similar lines to this one, but I have been told my car has now been 'released from factory'; does anyone know how long it should take from this point to delivery (I'm in the UK). My delivery date is the 31st March just wondering if it might be sooner than this?? Thx guys

I've just had word that mine is finishing production (week 9 with 6NR option) and is now due in 3 weeks for collection. Altogether it's come forward by 2 weeks.
