Residuals on 5GT taking a kicking in the UK
If you try an order a new 5GT in the UK, you may be taken aback by the high monthly payments (proportionately higher than an equivalently priced / specced X5 or Discovery). I am told this is because the 3-year residuals on the 5GT have been set low as the model has not been as much a success as expected in the UK so you pay more for the pleasure.
What makes matters worse is the new R-Class from Merceds (not to mention the swoopy CLS estate and the Audi A7 are soon to target the same segment with significantly more attractive offers. |

If you look at the BMW UK AUC listings, there are some really well specced examples with less than 5k miles, with some good savings. Sort of indicates GFV's will be low.
Not a good car to buy new, nearly new may make a bit more sense. HighlandPete |
