Hello everyone. Hopefully someone can help me out here with slight HVAC issues.
When my A/C is running it is making a hissing noise from interior vents and driver side is not cooling as much as passengers side. Also, when parked today I noticed a slight knocking and clicking noise coming from the left side corner of the dashboard, in front of steering wheel. I open the hood and i can hear the same noise on the drivers side right beneath the windshield right underneath the plastic peace that sits in the upper right corner of the hood. Also, there were times when it would take 10 mins or more for my ac to start cooling after starting my car. When i turn off my HVAC noise stops. My warranty ran out month ago of course and im trying to fix the problem before it gets worse and stops working completely. Somewhere online I read that hissing noise means a refrigerant leak somewhere in one of the lines... Any suggestions, opinions would help here. Thanks very much |

I can't speak to the knocking and clicking noise, but everything else you mentioned is exactly what I experienced when my refrigerant was nearly gone due to a leak.

FYI here in the EU BMW has activated a service measure to replace the condenser on their cost. AFAIK for F10/F11 at least the 6cyl (N57 engine) were involved. Thus it might be worth checking with BMW dealer. |
