Creaking
Seems to be a bit creaky from the sunroof and windows - I read somewhere that an adjustment was needed to the sunroof?
I'll see what the dealer says next week. |

hello - we had a similar problem from new, we also had a metal tinkling sound from the door post.
Car was in having the headlining removed and indeed another rattle was emanating from the passenger door post. Bmw replaced the whole roof frame and sussed out that the rattles were because of small pieces of residue weld metal coming loose The FIX was they stripped out the door post down to metal and then injected thick substance & all BMW dealers are privy to a private forum such as this and Cooper Colchester have posted this fix on that site for other dealers to see. We were very worried that the lining etc would not go back properly - have no fear. I must say that Cooper Colcheter were brilliant and very sympathetic to our problem and the car is now PERFECT |

This is one reason I really wanted to be able to buy the vehicle without the sunroof...it's just stronger and fewer places to leak or creak! But, in the USA (and other countries), they don't give you that choice (the sunroof is optional in Germany). I would have liked the extra couple of inches of headroom, too (and the decrease in price!). Frameless windows on the doors are more prone to this as well. See what the manual says (or maybe the dealer) on what, if anything, they put on the rubber seals. A light coat of that may make a huge difference.
