Damn it's finally here! (Toronto)
Picking up in 18 hours (longest hours in my life!). Took 3,5 months from order. Did not receive a production # until 10 weeks after the order... Canadian BMW authorities tell me RWD is a "special order" in this country. What a bunch of rotten crap! I see a tonne of non-X bimmers around (smart people BTW IMHO). Anyhow, got on the boat Aug. 1st, arrived at the dealership Aug. 29. Ordered May 15th....

Will soon post initial observations, after giving it some time.
The throttle response is a bit slow, already noticing that. The demo model did not seem to exhibit that too much. Also, on my way home from the dealership, there was some slight pull to the right to my great disappointment, however, I hope this is just uneven tire pressure.... |

Havana metallic looks amazing in the sun. A bit different on a cloudy day, but we mostly do have sun here in Ontario, so the colour rocks!
And the pictures don't do justice to Havana... The car looks much better in reality on a cloudy day than what you see attached (just went outside to confirm ) . Last edited by yogi799; 08-31-2011 at 10:14 AM.. |

Hi everyone,
Beautiful color if I say so myself , I was very close to ordering havana but backed off at the very last moment and went for dark graphite metallic. Only thing I regret is its a very common color (3 of those in our condo building parking excluding mine!) and I would have been more distinguished if I stayed firm on my initial choice. Sorry if I am hijacking this thread but I just moved to Toronto and was wondering if you guys could tell me where would be the best place for me to install my H&R springs? Thanks in advance. MBA |

Yup, Havana is indeed very unique and it MUST BE SEEN in the sun when making your decision. We were stunned and still remain stunned in other lighting conditions as well. Havana DID NOT look good inside the showroom (how ironic! I kept saying 'what an ugly colour!') and it was not until we saw it outside on a Z4 (they had no F10 in Havana) when we made out mind in less than 10 seconds.... What a great call. Again, pics, especially on a cloudy day, don't show this colour well at all. It must be seen in reality.

Did you get HUD? I see you have the 6WA extended cluster. And is this car an oyster/black? I orded the same color combo, Mojave (Havana) with oyster/black on a 528i. My dealer didn't have any cars in this color so I couldn't see it in person. I just thought it would be a nice color combo with the white interior. Could you post more pics?

Yup, same colour combination but no HUD.
Havana is an interesting colour... It reacts so differently to lighting conditions. 20% of the time I am not too sure about it, sort of don't like it... then the 80%... I am absolutely stunned by it and cannot turn my head away. Here are some more shots. It seems like I have a car with 10 different colours on a partly cloudy day, weird... LOL I have originally loved the brochure/website pics with Space Grey - was amazed by this colour... Then I realized they must have used a tonne of photoshop on these shots, as space grey in reality didn't impress us at all! More so really disappointed. I am happy with our choice overall!

Did they let you order the extended cluster by itself? Here in the US I think you have to get HUD to get that.

You have the extended gauge cluster or known as the blackout cluster. Notice how yours fully blackout except for the 1/2 rings and needles. Your gauge numbers are actually LED, not painted on. The standard cluster has full rings and the numbers are painted on so that they are still visible when the car is off..
These two photos are of the standard cluster, Here in the US you get the extended cluster only if you order HUD. But if you didn't order HUD, I was wondering if you specifically ordered this cluster by itself as you can do in Europe. |

O wow.. finally something cool about my car (I have a few gripes, such as not being able to get a standalone rear-view camera, headlamp washers, etc). Yup, and especially the bottom 1/3 of my gauges is basically a computer screen which changes into whatever is needed. The right hand one, for example, changes from the fuel consumption meter to music (song titles) on demand. Quite cool, indeed. Maybe they come standard on 535i in Canada. I love the fact the numbers vanish when the car is locked or after some delay.
Interesting though... the model in the second pic has the super duper cruise control which I soo wanted as well, but to no avail in Canada (only on 550i... go figure...). Kinda weird how a model with active CC does not seem to have that extended cluster of mine. US options are so flexible I gather... Not so in Canada.
