Only a guess on my part from looking at the RealOEM page, I believe it is either in the back of the glovebox or undeath the passenger side, back behind it. Forgot to ask the guys at the dealer last time I went in.

Many Thanks ghueser for the response...at least 1 reply post...
....but I cannot find it...would be helpful if someone could post a pic of the location...sighhhh!!! now i know why DIY is becoming a pain...no one wants to tell you so that when you send it down to the dealers they can charge an arm and a leg for it!! even when i asked about resetting the OBC, the dealers advised that such should be left to the servicing crew...wtf!!...my previous 3 series, i could reset these easily and saved a bit of $$....but dang it!!..for the F10, the sequence is either different or I'm doing it wrong!!...sorry guys for the frustration post...but i need to let off some steam... |

I looked left and right behind the removable panels in the front leg room.
I did not find the microfilters overthere, nor anywhere in the motor compartment. Where are the microfilters on the F10? Last edited by F11-Diesel; 08-15-2011 at 11:01 AM.. |

They are in the passenger foot well.
You have to loosen three screws of the board underneath the dashcupboard. The black box contains the filters the lid is secured by 4 screws. I used torx 15 and 20 and was cautious not to spoil any of the clips. |

Thanks much F11-Diesel......finally, many thanks to this kind soul!!!....
However... because I could not find it earlier....shucks..... I had no choice but to let the Service centre replace it for me...cost...around US$150 including parts and labour and resetting the OBC..... But for sure, the next change due will be a DIY and go exploring....and take some pics if possible.... By the way, how did you reset the OBC via idrive after the replacement? Please share....Thanks again F11-Diesel |

I am not aware of resetting anything.
My car does not ask for a reset or shows the filters in cic as it did in the E61 I had before. The filters do not look dirty after 18000 miles, it was just the sa proposing to switch them alongside an oil change. But I did not like the in my eyes overpricing,>€150, that came with that. So dicided to do it myself. On realoem there is a nice picture of the filter housing in the ac part. |
