Aftermarket exhaust tips for 520/528 in black?
Hi...is there such a thing available? I would not want to mess with the stock exhaust tips so something that fits over them without any modification would be great. In black.

The only way as you have indicated is simply to paint them black. Alternatively, you would have to swap out the stock tips with aftermarket ones.
Here are couple of vendors that sell them. Dimisa can customize to your liking as to the size as well. Typically, 3.5 inch is a very good looking one http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=281932 http://www.dimisatips.com/contact.php Last edited by bobblehead; 05-10-2012 at 07:05 AM.. |

BMW makes black tips, why go aftermarket ?
The BMW Black tips can be seen on M sport models and ordered from the dealer

Really, I did not know that. Does BMW make them for the 2-pipe exhaust as well?

Any reseller links? I doubt my dealer would have it and I know they will charge me a huge amount to get it for me.

You can then phone the parts department at your dealer and ask them the cost. They will order from Germany if there are none in your country. Takes a few days

....or I will contact one of the US dealers, they are usually quite competitive in their pricing. Its for my 520d.
Do the exhaust tips come on and off conveniently or is professional help required? Is black actually easier to maintain than chrome, since I assume it to be? Does anyone have any photos of black tips on Sophisto Grey?

You need to order 2 of them List price is about 45 Euro each I see some online US dealers have them for about $62 each ( search for "18308511729" ) I have not looked at how the F10 tips are secured. They should be by bolt or by clips. Bolt is easy as you just loosen and remove. The clips are more difficult as they dont want to allow you to remove the tips. You either have to push the clips away from the inside pipe somehow or break them or slowly twist off the tips. Not always easy

There is no RHD/LHD issue here right? The exhaust is always on the left?

Correct, the exhaust position does not change for LHD/RHD
