Supplementary of Diamond coating
Have picked up my F10 550I just 3 weeks ago & arranged the Diamond Keepre Hybrid (coating). Last week when I intended to drive my car into a public car park at the entrance, a guy who was driving on the same lane in front of me intended to change the direction, he just simply reversed his car but didn't check if anyone behind him! Although I tried to warn him by pressing the horn for 3-5 seconds, he didn't realize but still crushed on my car. It's indeed a nightmare! Now BMW need to renew the front fender & front bumper as well as doing the paint work. Once the repair is completed, I’m considering to bring the car to arrange the coating on the repair part. Anyone who can advise if such supplementary coating is OK?

Sorry to hear about the accident man.
Diamond Keepre Hybrid isn't found here in the US. I did a quick search and it seems like it's a local treatment from a popular car wash company you have near you in HK. If I were you I'd do my research about that car wash/detail company and really find out if they are true professional detailers (i.e. ask about their wash techniques, paint analysis, etc.) before spending a lot of money on a treatment. If they are a detail shop known for the quality of their work, then by all means, you should get a coating after your repairs. Alternatively, if you know how, you can always detail and seal your car yourself. I notice there are a lot of high end car wash/detail shops in asia, which is cool, but here in the US, car wash shops are usually cheap, low quality and just quick car washes that also offer crappy detail packages that do more damage to paint than good. Good luck... |

Tks fr yr advice mate! Before I went to hv the treatment on my F10, I hv read some comments fm various forums. Almost all are positive to the service of this shop. Keepre Hkg is a franchise of Keepre, a Japanese company who is specifically doing car detailing. The treatment from this shop is not cheap, they’re almost the most expansive in Hkg. They seldom use outsource material to detail the car but majority are invented by the head office in Japan. Wl try to get the 'know how' & attempt to detail next car by myself.

Take a look of this thread.
http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=582023 You may call and compare prices. For Glare, I think it's cheaper and they are in the business in HK for many years. Heard good things about them. About Keepre, can't go wrong with them too. But a bit pricy IMO.

Wl do after the re-treatment is done.
This is the most worry & why I forget the Hamann's kit! If anything goes wrong, whether it's the problem of the kit or workmanship of the outside workshop, one may try to switch the fault to the other. It's difficult to argue or bargain with outisde service provider! |

Give and take. Facts of life.
I am pretty satisfied with all the aftermarket retrofits which I have done so far. Saved a few bucks to do more mods.

was really unhappy with Keepre with the Diamond white last time i try on my old 540i.
The service is rubbish, your car will be done by kids working there. |

Sorry for reviving an old thread but thinking about coating.
As living in Olympic, I saw a Keepre just opened. So I am very tempted about their coating. But indeed heard that Glare is a no brainer but closest is in Kowloon Bay. (Ok having a car would definitely reduce the time to get there but hey, lazy is lazy ). Wondering if since then Keepree is still good? |
