$243 Vehicle Scan from the Dealer?
wanted to reach out to you guys since I know this has been brought up to your attention from the dealer at some point or maybe in the future. had my oil changed a few days ago but I was told by the dealer that my Vehicle Scan was past due as well. I asked him what does it involve and how much. he said $243 for the scan which does not remove any codes and also does not have anything to do with any type of fluid change, filters, ect. just to scan the vehicle for any codes that maybe on. anyone have and experience on this or was asked the same thing?

Only thing I can think of is running ista on diagnosis to see what computers show faults. Which I can do myself off my laptop other then that I'm confused even in my situation of diagnosis fee.

Never heard of this. I've always had the dealer do all my service. Free would be nice but guaranteed new parts will be required. Pass.

I never heard of such a thing
I would pass because if there is nothing wrong with your car then there is no need to scan anything I tell them to eat S#it but that's just me if they don't reset your service you can do DIY no need dealer to do this

Nope! It's like $50 if you want foreplay. If not than they go in dry with no warning

I believe this is called active inspection. I got a $1.00 oil change offer with this from dealer. Of course there will be more issues they find after the inspection and or scan.

I pulled the codes on my F10 with ISTA and it had 104 of them going back to mile 0. Every module had at least one code set. I can imagine the dealer charging this fee just to mine your vehicle for more codes to try and fix more problems that may or may not be actual problems. Most of the codes on mine were just spurious invalid sensor data that accumulated over time.
