Space grey bodywork- what wheel colour???
Hi chaps,
I have a space grey F10 535d, want to get the wheels refurbished and painted a different colour as I'm not a fan of the factory silvery finish. I used to have a white E90 with ferric grey mv3's and loved them. I'm thinking the same for this but not sure if will work with the space grey paintwork. Any suggestions would be welcome as I'm well and truly stuck! I've tried attaching a photo, hopefully it works 🤣 |

I'd think gunmetal wheels would look really nice against Ferric Grey. A couple people have painted those 351m wheels gunmetal and they look really nice.

I prefer the polished look...for wheels, for me i want the wheels to pop, and having them in a dark color, with a color like grey, they blend in too much...
Again just a preference on my end.. but blacked out the rest of the chrome... Also thinking of taking off the hood and trunk roundel's and painting the edges black to remove that chrome too... Last edited by xxpanipuri; 12-09-2020 at 01:35 PM.. |

A darker base with machined face would look pretty nice, much like how the 343M's look.

Ditto. I have almost the same wheels and everyone expected me to get them in black since my car is white, but like you said, black wheels always give the impression that they're smaller.
OP, I honestly think your best bet is darker shade of gunmetal if you don't like the lighter look. I personally wouldn't go black for the reason mentioned above, and they honestly come off as cheap (don't mean any disrespect to anyone that prefers them that way). Google gray Lexus cars - that can give you some ideas of dark gunmetal wheels against a "grayish" car. Quote:

Seen the Lexus photos, look decent, will need to try work out the paint codes. |

Gunmetal
I had gunmetal coloured wheels in the car when I purchased it. I didn't personally like that dark wheels but of course that's only my personal opinion.
So I changed the wheels to machined/black which in my opinion is much better. Of course that can't be done for the Style 351's. |
