535 X Drive starter
Ordered a new starter and after removing the old one I noticed the new one has 13 teeth and the old one has 9. Anyone familiar with this issue. I have read that it is possible they are both correct based on the spacing of the teeth from the flywheel. Any feedback would be appreciated. Im trying to avoid having to buy another with 9 teeth and returning the first one.

What exact starter did you buy? If the part numbers match, I would use it. The only start differentiator I see on RealOEM is manual vs automatic transmissions.

Based on what I have encountered, pre LCI have less teeth and LCI have more teeth. It should work but you are putting in an older design.
