Yeh its a funny day. I look forward to it quite a bit, don't mind the lead up, get set for the start, but then after 30 minutes its follow the leader so time to mow the lawn, wash the car, and do some garden work. Unless it rains very little seems to change and its getting worse.

On one hand a testimony to driver skill and fitness, engineering, and team work. On the other everything is so evenly matched unless someone makes a mistake from fatigue they just go round and round.

Its a two car race for US made 2 doors all using similar running gear. The Australian V8 Super Cars is little more than boys and their toys with sponsors hoping you by their stuff because ? Who can't do change or competition outside their club because they have already experienced what 4 and 6 cyl do to their big bad ass V8s.

The Bathurst 12hr is far better event. A mix of cars, shapes and sizes, a sprint race for 300 laps and 2000km makes the supercars 170 laps and 1000km look amateurish.

The power of marketing is really quite extraordinary.

Still the Supercars put on a show for the last 18 laps thanks to rain.

Toyota are due to rejoin the Supercar grid next year with the Supra but they cannot run the B58/S58 because the Aussies are scared of six cylinder turbos. So they have to downgrade to a 5L V8 from a Lexus.

Will be interesting to see if they stay, or get the reward in R&D or sales they are hoping for the money down.

1465 subsidized Mustangs sold in Aus in 2024. Camaros stopped entering the country in2020. Its a dead end game for people who can't do change.
