Help diagnose front suspension squeak creak **Fixed**
Can anyone help me with this? I have a squeaking/creaking sound coming from the driver side front suspension. It is SUPER loud I was in a parking lot yesterday and people 50 yards away were turning to see what it was. I CANNOT figure out where it's coming from, I even bought a listening ear, but it sounds like it's coming from everywhere in the suspension. It occurs when going over bumps and the slighest uneven roads and also when turning. I don't really hear it at speed but that's not to say that it's not occurring. I don't hear it when braking unless the road prior to the stop is uneven. The best way I can describe it is sounds like when you open a creaky door. I checked the control arms and ball joints with the suspension assembled and I'm not seeing any excess wheel movement. I'm thinking maybe I hear it from the strut? maybe? I sprayed some wd-40 on the control arm bushings just to see if the sound went away and it did not. The easiest way to show this to other people is to jack up and let down the car. In the first video the clicking sound at the very beginning is the suspension while the car is being jacked up not the jack. The creaking/squeaking when letting it down is, well that's the suspension too.

Did you try using some silicone spray on the upper wishbone bushings (visible near the spring in your first video). I've had those make single 'creak' sounds before.

Yes and no hahaha. I did spray some components and the creaking has gotten 90% better but it's still there somewhat. The problem is I can't tell which bushing(s) was the culprit. My process was, spray one bushing/component let the car down push up and down on the suspension and see if it still creaks. Everything was still creaking/squeaking when I gave up. Then yesterday I drove it and it's MUCH better so the spray penetrated overnight. But of course I don't know what it was because ultimately I sprayed a lot of things. So it's a bushing just not sure which one. So I'm going to hose them off wait a few days until it probably starts up again then start over. In the mean time I did order the lower front and rear control arms because I think it's one of them as the sound, even though hard to pinpoint, is more behind the caliper than up towards the strut tower. |

I had the same issues and sprayed every joints from top to bottom with solicon spray and the noises are gone now. Dont worry about over spray. Make sure you cover every angle.

turns out it was the lower rear ward control arm. The strut bushing was making all that noise. Replaced and the noise is gone but I discovered an oil leak around the oil pan (I hope it's the oil pan). AND now there is another click I'm hearing when braking so the excitement never stops.
