Will the new 550i auto throttle blip?
Highly considering a new 550i. I currently drive a manual M3, looking for a larger sedan as the kids are growing.
I've seen there will be a manual. Any word an a sport auto that will rev match on downshifts? I had a 05 SMG which was awesome. I would only consider the auto if it does throttle blips.

I have been looking for an answer to this as well with the caveat that I need AWD too.
I don't think the current sport automatic blips, but it does have paddles. Maybe someone with that tranny can chime in here? There are also rumblings that 550i will NOT be offered with a manual transmission in the USA as previously disclosed by BMW NA in a press release. Hope this isn't true because I fear that the sport automatic will not be offered with xDrive either. -R |

My 2009 E60 535i xDrive automatic in sport mode does not "blip", one can certainly feel the transition to higher revs post change of gear, but no "pre-blip" before the change. The true sport-auto tranny might be different however. |
