Eibach Pro-Kit and Pro-Spacers now available for the F10 BMW 5-Series
One of the largest aftermarket suspension manufacturers in the world, Eibach, has developed a new set of suspension offerings for the new F10 BMW 5-Series. Those familiar with Eibach will not be surprised to hear that they have developed a set of Pro-Kit springs and Pro-Spacer wheel spacers. This is a great start for 5-series enthusiasts looking to lower their cars for a sportier look and to simultaneously improve handling and dynamics of the car. The parts are naturally TÜV-certified and are available starting today at authorized retailers. |

Are the springs safe to put on cars with the dynamic handling package? Worried about loosing the warranty or having problems with the rest of the suspension wearing out much quicker.

The Eibach kit is interesting, but it would help to learn if "TÜV-certified" means that the user will have no problems with BMW held warranty if he installed the kit.

the TUV thing is a big deal in germany, they're like a regulatory group. in 99 my family lived abroad in munich for a year and my dad brought his new car over with us, but he couldn't drive it until he replaced the tail lights with a new set because the OEM US set didn't have a TUV approval stamp. for whatever reason, the headlights did have the stamp...
but after all that, i bet bmw wouldn't give a crap. it's not that the spacers DO have a TUV stamp, it's that they DON'T have a BMW stamp

f10's with adaptive drive, are the rears equipped with air bags/posts instead of springs then? if so, does that mean the rear drop will be links like on x5/x6 rears? can anyone currently with an f10 + adaptive confirm if there are springs or not in the rears?

Eibach is the way to go if you're just going springs.

Here is the front suspension on the F10 with Dynamic Handling Package. I'm not an engineer, but those with suspension knowledge may be able to make more out of these pictures, then me and can compare it with the E60 which I'm sure people have disected many times over...

you must be busy being a "chauffeur" for your wife.
BTW, that front suspension doesn't look that bad. I did the suspension on my 'ol 2002 Passat 1.8. Had similar setup. It can be done. But, when I order the 550, I wouldn't want the Dynamic Handling Package. |

@gatoman39: thank you for the pics, I'm actually more curious about how the rear suspension looks? Is that included or are all of those front suspension pics you provided. I'm curious to know if there is a spring in the rear or not....

thanx for the clarification...
I know there's an AW f10 535i here in so cal lowered on rdsport springs, that owner does not have adaptive drive so and did confirm he lowered with 4 springs (2 in the front and 2 in the rear). I am wondering if f10's with adaptive drive have rear air bags instead of springs, so lowering the rear would entail links instead of springs....

Looks like they are using a special fluid in the suspension which can be stimulated by electronics to change it's viscosity. Some Caddy's and other high end cars have been doing that for years. Same concept as having the "sport" suspension button, except now the suspension can stiffen and loosen very quickly as needed to soften the bumps. edit: sorry nerdy engineer here.... |

Kudos for those pics, this is why I love these forums. People will go to great lengths (busting out jack and camera) just to share something.
