Price of an F10 in Singapore!!
Just thought that I would start this thread to show you guys out there who already own an F10/11 just how lucky you are!!
I just bought my F10 and picking it up in 9 days. I bought the entry level 523i, comes standard with comfort access, bluetooth, xenon headlights and nothing much more. Even our I-drive screen is smaller than what you guys are getting in the US and the rest of Europe. Does not even have the sport/comfort mode!! This base model costs, US$192000.00!! The 535i costs US$248000.00!! See how lucky you guys are. |

I feel a little bit better now as I "ONLY" paid USD150K for my F10 550i in Hong Kong

Just doing my part to make you guys feel better, we all don't have to be unhappy right?
Have not told you guys the best part, we are only allowed to keep a car for 10 years....after that we have to scrap it!! |

A good portion of the car price goes to the many government taxes. However, did some calculations based on that and figured out that the BMW authorised dealer is making an average profit of around US$56000 - US$64000 per BMW car sold regardless of model. |

So, I guess the dealer does not even have to negotiate with any buyers at all.
In Canada, the dealer profit margin is about 10% and usually, if the buyer is smart in negotiation, then the buyer can get about 7% off the MSRP and leave the dealer with about 3% profit margin ... In US, the dealers will even take the deal at cost + $500 (or less) to get it done. |

I know it sounds crazy to buy cars at these prices but we do not have much of a choice or any at all. Get this, despite the hefty margins they are making BMW Singapore was the top selling Luxury Brand in 2010. |

Wow. I guess only the mega rich can afford to drive there.
In Canada, for that kind of money ... you can buy the BMW 535 base or a fully loaded 335 convertible |

What about parallel imports? The 528 is HKD 380k price, 228k tax = USD49k ex.tax There is very little margin there, Sime Darby same co. .. why is it so expensive in SG then? I won't complain about getting ripped off buying BMWs in hk.. |

How ironic.
SG and to a lesser extent HK as well, IMO have the least challenging road network in the world. I'd happily pay that much money for a car, if I could take it around let's say the roads of southern France or Bavaria. But SG?

First of all our government taxes are much higher than in HK and on top of that we have to buy a piece of paper called a COE(certificate of entitlement) to register a new car. This alone cost me US$42000.00 and is only valid for this car. Plus on top of that the BMW dealers are making a minimum of US$56000-US$64000 per car. They basically have no competition!! We do have parallel imports as well, they are generally US$16000-US$20000 cheaper but they do not come with any factory warranty which scares alot of people off. Even the parallel importers are making an average of US$32000 -US$40000 per BMW car sold. |

Makes it alot easier for me to accept the abuse at the hands of the local dealer.. I think SG has much better plans for traffic management and overall long term planning, HK, we just about the $$$ hohoho Riding taxis in HK =cheap, leaving phones in taxis every couple of months =expensive, but good excuse to change phones (not me) |

Can you drive your car everyday? Heard that certain roads you only can drive there every other day. Restricted by license plate no. (even or odd).
